Dear Colleagues
With great pleasure to inform you that 17-19.11.2011 in Kielce took place the Third Congress of the Polish Brachytherapy Society . Participation in a meeting attended by over 80 Participants from all brachytherapy centers in Poland, and a guy from Spain. The guiding theme of our meeting was to present the activities of brachytherapy centers, major international trends, and Recommendations Regarding the use of brachytherapy. Leaders of brachytherapy in Poland presented Recommendations for use in localizations Gynecological brachytherapy, prostate and breast cancer, and moulage brachytherapy techniques Presentation were done from different points of view. Very strong accent was a nursing session, which began the review lecture by Dr. Julio Borello from the Center in Caseres in Spain. Lectures nurses from centers in Kielce and Brzozowie drew attention to the problems of care of Patients undergoing brachytherapy in Poland. Both the professional level and forms of presentation were very high, and testified to the high professionalism of the speakers. Fundamentals of radiobiology as usual with congenital eloquently presented the mgr M. Kawczyńska. We are pleased to welcome also been Recognized Authorities, as prof. Jacek Fijuth, suitable additional positive impulses in the discussions at Subsequent lectures.
The scientific part of the sample resulted in a consensus conference on the application of brachytherapy in the treatment of primary and secondary prostate cancer, and defining the role of Computer Tomography and Magnetic Resonance in the Treatment of Patients with Gynecological Malignancies.
Social Part allowed to continue to integrate with colleagues from different centers in a common game.
The outcome of the Board is to Determine the next, IV Congress of the Society, Which Will Be Held in 2013 in Bialowieza, and the organizer will be Bialystok Oncology Center, under the direction of Dr. T. Filipowskiego.

On 26-28.08.2010 took place for the first time in Poland ESTRO Course in Modern Brachytherapy Gyneacology. Led as always by Prof. Potter and Prof. Heide-Meder. Meeting brought together over 120 participants from almost all over the world. VIII edition of the Course took place in Warsaw at the Victoria Hotel Intercontinental and was very successful. Participants had the opportunity to listen to many lectures on modern therapeutic use of brachytherapy. The best lecturers were representatives of the discipline in Europe. A valuable achievements were practical workshops, which took place courtesy of companies producing equipment for brachytherapy. During these meetings, each participant can see the latest treatment planning systems and verify their knowledge of both the circular contour areas and critical. Part of the social left a good impression among the participants. Also Social Part of the Meeting held in Old Town gave a lot of impressions for participants as Staff as well.
The next such conference is scheduled for next year and will address issues prostate cancer and the place where will be carried out with the participation of Poznan booming WCO with Ass Proff MD, Ph.D Janusz Skowronek leading
